Ok I'm not going to lie - I'm brow obsessed these days, they frame your eyes and I'm all about the eye makeup, so If you've ever wondered how to get picture perfect brows this blog is for you. Whilst having a giggle at some scary brows 🙊
Is it any wonder we’re eyebrow-obsessed? Brows not only frame the eyes, but a well-groomed pair adds instant polish to your makeup look. I think brows are one of the most important feature on the face, so I've rounded up the best eyebrow tips and tricks for you to be camera ready.
The good brow ----
I would say that eyebrows have become a big feature!
Eyebrows have become a huge part of our daily lives... Everywhere we look there's brows brows brows, brow threading, tinting, HD brows, brow stencils, bushy brows, skinny brows and silly brows!
Getting your eyebrows the correct shape, size and colour for your face is trickier than it sounds!
To find your brow shape it will help to know your face shape...
As you can see there are many different shapes, but you essentially just have to make the most of your shape and enhance it.
For perfectly shaped brows, the goal is to have the arch of the brow just outside your pupils.
Thicker brows are generally better for a more youthful appearance, you can still shape them but be careful how much hair you take away.
For best results you want the inner part of your brow to be thicker and then taper into a thinner line as they go towards your temples.
Use a brow product with a Ashy / Khaki undertone to it, this will look far more natural as hair naturally has this undertone. There tends to be a lot of reddish toned ones around but these never look quite as realistic! Unless you are a redhead of course.
The most natural Looking product to use tends to be a powder as pencils can look quite harsh and not blend out as nicely, an angled brush and a matt shadow will be one of the best things to use, once you have defined your shape soften slightly with a spoolie type brush.
Shading your eyebrows accordingly is important,no brows will be the same darkness/colour throughout,so normally the arch and tail of the brow should be the most defined and darkest (as referenced in tricks) the inner part should be slightly lighter as hairs here tend to be more sparse.
As you can see here, there are slightly different shades and density.
A makeup artists trick is to clean up around the edges with a concealor or your foundation...like this....
Shaping your own brows -
Shape trick-Before you start trimming or plucking your eyebrows, use a creamy brow pencil to outline the shape you want them to be. Then, carefully remove the hairs that fall outside of that line. You can use brow scissors or tweezers to achieve the look you want, this is by far the easiest way to do this. Most people opt for tweezers. You might end up being frustrated and taking twice as long if your tweezers slide off or break the hair instead of pulling them out - or can't grab onto short hairs. A clear brow gel can help neaten up the shape to once filled in. So getting a decent pair will be well worth it! My pick: Tweezerman Slant Tweezers.
And the bad -----
Never create your own made up shape
-Never shave your eyebrows off to draw them back on!
I highly recommend you go to a professional if you are not confident in doing your own eyebrows .
